He established Ruben Reddy Architects’ Cape Town branch in 2009 and has since managed to grow and direct his team on both large & complex projects such as the 5 year R870m Wynberg 2 Military Hospital upgrade (completion 2017) but also on beautifully crafted smaller projects as the R7m new Visitor Centre for CapeNature in the Cederberg mountains (completed 2015).

Another project of his that had a significant social intervention is the upgrade of 131 municipal apartment blocks wherein 99% of residents applauded the impact of the design solution to their environment (completed 2016). The planned intervention was championed by Rushdy and eventually approved despite entities within the client body that initially resisted his self-imposed benchmarks that forced the intervention above-and-beyond the standard that he client would have accepted initially. Communities and entire families in Hout Bay, Macassar, Nooitgedacht and Ottery are the better for it.
